Parent Notes - Week 16

Hi all!
Hope you're having a good start to your week. Just a reminder that the second semester ends the week of January 26th and full year students will receive their mid-term grades by the end of the month. They will be sent to parents and students by email. Students in Public Speaking will receive their course credit forms with final grades around the same time by email.

Thank you to those of you who prayed for my Dad. He could use continued prayer. Our trip was a blessing, but he has surgery later this month and he's still pretty week. He needs to gain some significant weight.

An amazing woman and homeschool mom, Veronica Walsh, went on to see our heavenly Father last week due to ovarian cancer. Those of you who knew understand the amazing person that she was while on this earth. Please pray for her family as they deal with tremendous loss: husband Larry, daughter Khailey and son Thomas. Veronica will be so missed by so many!

I wanted to leave you this week with a Psalm written by my son, John Paul, for the World Literature class. I found it to be very encouraging and I hope it will have the same effect for you.Have a blessed and thankful week!

Oh God, feel my prayer,
lead me, guide me, embrace me,
force me to find distaste in my selfish desires,
convict me to fall away from infectious sin,
God, reveal your selfless wonders instead.

Grasp my hand, steer me clear of unwanted temptation,
Never a demand or test of you oh God,
but only a plea for salvation,
In my ways I stumble, I fall,
but through your ways, I soar.

Through faith, the mislaid find a path, a lamp to guide them,
through prayer, the betrayed find peace, and all selfless desires,
through God's word, the lonely find the eternal companion,
through blood, the sinner finds a redeemer, and becomes blameless,
and through love, all find hope, salvation, and eternal peace.

Dear God, throughout your daily lessons, I discover how to glorify you're majestic name,
and become blameless and pure in sight, mind, and heart.
I praise you, for your promised salvation, and your perpetual love and pardon.
For as a father understands how easily a child makes a mistake and forgives him,
for you God can understand infinitely more the ways of love and forgiveness!
I praise, glorify, and worship your name, my thankfulness could never mean anything
For no other has the power or love to fulfill the promises of Your humbling name.

Thank you God for showing me your glory, your wonderful creation,
Thank you for placing companions and family in my life,
for these people Lord you guide my graciously through,
Thank you for talents, passions, love, grace,
and the ability to see such awe in your creation.
Thank you most of all for the opportunity of finding and rejoicing in a passionate Savior, one who forgives and forgets without a second thought,
but accepts all who fall to their knees in humble conviction.
Your glory alone is shown through your mercy and love for your children,
We will praise you, forever, and ever.
