Parent Notes - Week 7

Dear Parents,
I am very pleased with student progress at this point. It's great to see the kids working hard and learning so much! My Public Speaking students are giving their first full length speech tomorrow, so please be praying for them.

The word of the week is COMMUNICATION. Just a few notes about how the email system is designed to work for submitting student work.
1. Your child has been instructed on how to format the subject line and the file name for each assignment. Students are beginning to become rather lax about how they're doing this and I am finding student assignments in my SPAM folder or other email folders. Unfortunately, looking for student work eats up my time, so please ask your student about this process, maybe even have him or her explain it to you to insure understanding. Most students started off on the right foot. Let's keep that going!
2. As I receive student email, I respond with an stating "Received." If your child does not receive this response from me, I didn't see the email. It also helps clarify when I misplace an assignment (it does happen) and the student is able to let me know he or she received confirmation.  Please remind your student to watch for my responses to their emails.
3. If your student is ill or plans on missing class (or misses school for online students), please contact me as soon as possible. It really helps me with planning , particularly with local students who tend  to have class projects and such. Email works fine in this situation.

Thus far, this has been one of the most successful starts for a school year with my classes. Your students are awesome and work very hard. You're obviously doing a great job at home!

God's blessings on your week,
